New Architectural Renderings for The Grove Retreat Center

Just in from our architects...new renderings of The Grove Retreat Center.

A quiet retreat to spend time with God, grow with others in Christ, explore creativity and all of the wonderful God-given gifts He has lavished on all His children.

Visual arts studios, media/sound editing rooms, dance studio, ceramics, and plenty of quiet space among the lemon and avocados groves...this is why we call it 'The Grove.'
What we value: Christ, Community, Creativity, Contribution, Culture

Transforming Culture Conference

I recently spoke with Larry Linenschmidt of the Hill Country Institute, who is organizing the upcoming Transforming Conference in Austin, Texas next April 1-3, 2008. The lineup of speakers is impressive (Jeremy Begbe, Eugene Peterson, Barbara Nicolosi, Andy Crouch, and David Taylor), but what has really caught my attention are some of the questions they're asking...

THE GOSPEL: In what way is art a gift, a calling, and an obedience?
THE PASTOR: How is the pastor an artist and the artist, a pastor?
THE WORSHIP: How can our actions and spaces be artfully shaped?
THE ARTIST: What is an artist and how do we shepherd these strange creatures?
THE CULTURE: How can art serve the culture-transforming mission of the Church?

This is definitely going to be far more than a "tips & tricks" conference?

It is going to encourage deep thinking and reflective action. I'm going with a few of our board members...we'll see you there!
