Layton Howerton-The Storytellers Journal

I'm here at the Worship Foundations Mentor Network gathering at Fuller Seminary. Driving up here, the Los Angeles sunset was absolutely fantastic, dripping golden with God's grace and favor.

I have met a hoot of a new friend, Layton Howerton, a musician, storyteller, writer and pastor from Wyoming. He jokes and teases and loves to hunt elk...the ghosts of the forests.

Layton has challenged my thinking with his insights and laughter. He's worth checking out at www.thestorytellersjournal.com

Sorry i missed it! I'm an artist and a mentor living on Mentor Ave in Pasadena this year. As you were having this meeting around the corner I was on a skype coaching appt with a young artist (an Asian Canadian who's been a pop singer in Taiwan now living in a major arts city in the mid-west). I was encouraging her to embrace her calling to be an artist. She wrote yesterday that the call "was life changing" (wow! i pretty much just asked her questions!) My husband is taking courses at Fuller this year (ThM, ICS) while I fill some gaps in my undergraduate theatre education (my BA is in Comm/Drama from Biola in 1984) I checked out Brehm Centre a year ago last summer, but it wasn't for me...or I wasn't for them. Let's meet up sometime this year!
